副省级市上面有。
计划单列市和副省级市相同。按字面翻译是：City Specifically Designated in the State Plan。按全称（国家社会与经济发展计划单列市）翻译是：City with Independent Planning Status under the National Social and Economic Development，官译有时会把City换成Municipality
中央直辖市按字面翻译是：Municipality Directly Under the Central Government
较大的市，Larger City；或作Largest City。官译写作Large City，不过Larger最合适。英译有时直接写成Metropolis
设区的市，City Divided into Districts
不设区的市，City not Divided into Districts
直筒子市就是不设区的地级市，Prefecture-level City not Divided into Districts

民族乡的官方翻译是：Nationality Township，但由于容易产生歧义，所以英译并没有采用
所以咱官译实在不怎么样。

音译就行了，更体现以我为主、更体现主权：

国内长期以来都用municipality来翻译直辖市，简直是个大笑话。就像以前nation翻译为民族一样，对西方文化一知半解还自以为是让人误解甚至偷笑。

Municipality是从殖民地沿用过来的。
民国的院辖市就译作Municipality。
现在台湾的直辖市（都）译作Municipality或Special Municipality

其实日本也乱用
日语把印度的municipal authority翻成直辖市，municipal corporation特别市，municipality一般市。

主要municipality这词西洋人就乱用，上到国家下到村都用，可以是一个市/镇/村，也可以一群市镇村的集合，也可以是一个城市的众区～比如智利圣地亚哥，含义就是地方政府/基层自治体。用来翻直辖市也不算离谱。

如果是州呢

法语把县翻译成xian？这么另类？

中国的县法语翻译可能有错误，应该是comte，还有中国建国时期有大区，如东北大行政区等六大行政区，英文名叫什么，还有专区英文名叫什么？
